This year we are blessed with 3 Plus Size Actresses up for the OSCAR, Melissa McCarthy is one of them. Melissa just received an EMMY (for Mike & Molly) a GOLDEN GLOBE nomination for BRIDESMAIDS, and on Feb. 26th, the results on her OSCAR nomination. Later we see the results for her two SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards. WOW what a wonderful way to begin the year. Congratulations Melissa, you do us proud!
The Artist – Movie Review
Simpatico, Cute and Charming are the words that best describes THE ARTIST. No dialogue to misinterpret feelings, just looks that say it all. The movie began slowly, but be patient for the “love conquers all” story is around the corner. My favorite actor however was the Jack Russel dog that demonstrated love, loyalty, sensitivity, and intelligence that will win over the most cynical of movie goers. Move over Lassie and Rin Tin Tin, there is a new dog in town. ****
Michael Douglas & Antonio Banderas in a BAD MOVIE
The talents of Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor and Antonio Banderas could not save this film. The story was old as was the chase scenes. Those three actors must have lost a bet to agree to star in this waste of time film. So don’t be like me, I go to films staring any of those three actors and expect to be entertained, but not in the case of HAYWIRE. If you need a nap and want to pay for the privilege, then see this film. *
